Recommended Therapy for Cancer Patients

Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques so that clients can safely deal with the complications of cancer and cancer treatment. The benefits include improved relaxation, sleep, and immune function, as well as relief from anxiety, pain, fatigue, and nausea.

Oncology Massage

I have been trained to provide therapy to people coping with cancer. By applying a highly individualized massage treatment to comfort, nurture, and support clients in the process, the treatments are modified according to the full spectrum of cancer-related issues.

This includes the physical, psycho-social, and emotional consequences of cancer. In addition, the person's individual goals are considered along with other aspects of the disease and cancer treatment’s side effects. This service is certified by Tracy Walton & Associates LLC. BStillHealingMassage offers this service to clients in Metro Atlanta and Villa Rica, Georgia.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

I am certified by Klose Training in manual lymphatic drainage massage. MLD is a gentle rhythmic pumping movement in the direction of lymph flow to increase movement. MLD is a superficial skin technique that facilitates healing for migraines, autoimmune disorders, and post-surgical/traumatic edema.

It is effective for treating lymphedema due to the removal of lymph nodes, lipedema, acne, hematomas, and swelling due to sprains and strains. The focus is on treating minor pathologies using MLD to support a client’s general well-being. This service can be added to all massages when necessary.

Benefits of Lymphatic Massage for Post-Operation
for Cosmetic Surgery

Plastic surgeons stress that lymphatic drainage massage for post operations like liposuction, tummy tucks, arm, thigh, and Brazilian butt lifts can benefit recovery. The massage will reduce the swelling and decrease the congestion within the tissues.

The massage will also allow the extra fluid to move towards the lymphatic tissue that helps the body absorb and release it to the cardiovascular system. The massage can also help reduce the chance of infection and swelling that can cause pressure on the incision lines. It’s recommended to get 6-12 sessions or whatever your doctor recommends.

What to Expect During Recovery

  • Recommend 5-7 manual lymphatic drainage massage during the first week to initiate healing by easing pain & reducing swelling. First session 24 hours after surgery. This will also help with reducing anxiety and stress.

  • Recovery time lasts 6-8 weeks depending on the client. It could be up to 10 weeks if BMI is over 30. It’s recommended to get 2-3 massages a week to hasten recovery.

  • Body contouring treatment can start after 8 weeks depending on the condition of the client.

Package Requirements

All clients purchasing lymphatic drainage massage and post-op recovery packages must purchase a minimum of 6 sessions at the time of the first scheduled appointment. Please be informed that said packages are non-refundable.
